Respite for family caregivers
Make room for your life while someone you love gets support.
Do you need temporary or short term in-home health care support? Or maybe a scheduled break to make room for work, your own appointments, an afternoon with your family, or time to rest. Start with the day(s) you need covered.
Cincinnati, Ohio and Northern Kentucky · 4- or 8-hour visits to discuss
You can care about them and need support yourself.
Family care can involve meals, personal routines, reminders, laundry, errands, and company. Respite means arranging temporary support while the usual caregiver steps away. It can be part of a procedure recovery time period, a regular week or a particular need, subject to scheduling and service fit. Some of our clients just want help with surgery recovery at home.
A 4-hour break
Time for an appointment, an errand, or a shorter block away. Care-only cost: $140 per visit.
An 8-hour day
A longer block for work, a day out, or another responsibility. Care-only cost: $280 per visit.
A predictable rhythm
Discuss the same days each week so the family can plan around the care arrangement. Dates, times, and caregiver availability are confirmed directly.
Plan who will help before and after the visit.
- Write down the daily routine and the tasks to prioritize.
- Agree on when the family caregiver will leave and return.
- Confirm a reachable contact and how concerns will be communicated.
- Discuss personal preferences, meals, reminders, and the support needed during the shift.
- Make a plan for time outside the visit and for changes or delays.
Share detailed medical information and emergency instructions directly through the care setup process, rather than the public website form.
Put the break into your budget.
One 4-hour visit each week is $140/week, averaging about $607/month. One 8-hour visit each week is $280/week, averaging about $1,213/month. Average months use 52 weeks ÷ 12; actual charges follow the hours provided and any agreed additional charges.
Other local support may also help.
Southwestern Ohio’s Council on Aging resource center and Northern Kentucky’s NKADD caregiver support program can explain community options and program eligibility. These are independent resources; a listing here does not mean Passionate Care participates in or is paid by a particular program.
Have a day you need covered? Start with that date.
Answer a few questions about the help you want and when you would like it. Review your choices and a starting estimate, explore fewer hours if you wish, and request a call when you are ready. We’ll discuss the tasks, schedule, and availability before you decide.
A request does not reserve a caregiver, confirm an appointment, or start a care contract.
